“The South Texas whitetail season had been good to me, especially where I call home. That’s why on this four-day hunt that would draw my season to an end, it was going to be relaxing. It had already been my best season so far, so anything else would just be icing on the cake.

I went hunting with my family down at the Novillos Ranch in South Texas that’s an amazing place to hunt. John Burrell of High Adventure Company first introduced me to the Novillos a few years ago. My husband Brian and I were talking with John about wanting to find a high quality low fence ranch in Texas. John was excited to tell us about a little “honey hole” he knew of and upon investigation of the ranch; Brian and I became excited too. After several hunts over the past few years, we quickly started to call this white-tail haven our whitetail home in Texas.

We had a great plan for this four-day hunt. We, along with our two boys Parker and McLane, would head south and hopefully be able to add to an already great season. The first morning and evening hunt went by without success. Don’t get me wrong; there was success.”
