Dove Season Just Around The Corner
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) new dove forecast is out and not only are the numbers of doves up, but so are the numbers of days you can hunt them. Texas now has the longest dove season in the country, 90 days. That’s 20 days more than last season.
The extra days fall over the Christmas holidays, so if you’ve got some extra time then, go dove hunting! Check out the dove forecast video.
If you’re scouting around for good places to hunt dove, you’ll find plenty of opportunities in public hunting areas. These include property owned by the TPWD, as well as acreage we’ve leased from federal agencies and private landowners. All you need is an Annual Hunting Permit—which costs $48—to gain access to nearly 1 million acres of public hunting with a wide variety of game, including a LOT of doves.—courtesy TPWD
