Motorcycle Club Raises Money At Hunters Extravaganza For Combat Veteran Hunting Experiences
Over the past few years a special group of men and women have donated their time and effort to helping wounded veterans live the trophy experience. Though many of them have never served in the military, they realize the healing powers of the hunting experience can change the lives of someone struggling to recover from severe injuries suffered in combat. The Wild West Motorcycle Club has been exhibiting at the Hunters Extravaganza events since 2016 where they have hosted fundraisers in support of Combat Marine Outdoors. Through their efforts, over $260,000 has been raised to provide Texas veterans, of all military branches, the opportunity to go on the hunt of a lifetime.
About Combat Marine Outdoors
Combat Marine Outdoors is a 501(C)(3) corporation that has been helping severely wounded service members recuperate and recover through the “healing of the hunt.” Since 2005, over two thousand marines, soldiers, airmen, sailors, and navy corpsmen have been able to experience outdoor adventures of a lifetime. Through this experience lives have been changed, and saved, with the renewed hope of camaraderie, accomplishment, challenge and satisfaction. In May 2018, representatives from Wild West MC and Combat Marine Outdoors presented a token of their appreciation to the directors of the Texas Trophy Hunters Association for allowing them the opportunity to exhibit, raise money, and give back to their community. Master Gunnery Sergeant (Retired) Arturo G. Garcia shared these remarks with TTHA CEO Karl Kinsel, “In combat, we [marines] carry each other out of the fight when injured. But when we’re home, and recovering, it’s organizations like yours [TTHA] that carry us through the tough times.”
