Radioactive Hogs In Fukushima Keep Residents From Returning
Radioactive Hogs contaminated with radiation levels 300 times higher than safety standards
The New York Times reports on efforts to eradicate radioactive hogs roaming towns near the Fukushima nuclear power plant. Since the 2011 nuclear plant disaster, these hogs have increased in numbers, and hunters can’t kill them fast enough. Japan prepares to lift evacuation orders on four of the towns in Fukushima Prefecture, but can’t do so until officials control the hog problem. Brandon Ray photo
