First Game Warden Tweetalong Sept. 1
shelbycountytexashistory.org photo Texas game wardens will conduct their first-ever virtual patrol ride-along via Twitter over the Labor Day weekend. The wardens will give the public a first-hand look at what happens on a typical opening dove season shift in their tweet-along on Sunday, September 1. Throughout that day, the agency’s technology warden, also a commissioned officer, will join a warden in Travis County and tweet continuously what happens that day.
The public is invited to follow along at twitter.com/TexasGameWarden. Special Operations Chief Grahame Jones conceived the idea because he wanted to give the public a better idea of what officers face on a given shift. “I think showing the public first-hand what our game wardens do will help build relationships,” Jones said.
