Texas deer expert, Journal writer, and television personality Dr. James C. Kroll, aka “Dr. Deer,” was recently named Wisconsin’s new “whitetail trustee,” by Gov. Scott Walker. That state’s Department of Natural Resources will pay Kroll to review its deer management program, including population estimates, overwinter goals, and the bow and gun hunting season structure. Kroll’s preliminary report is due March 1, and a final report June 1.
