Woman Shot By Ammo Stored In Oven

Oven not a safe place to store ammunition

The Tampa Bay Times reports an 18-year-old St. Petersburg woman had been injured because ammunition stored inside an oven she turned on had exploded. Aalaya Walker wanted to make herself some waffles when the incident occurred. She preheated the oven and heard an explosion a short time later. Walker, suffering wounds to her chest and leg, rode the bus to a nearby hospital, where she met with police officers.
Her friend, Javarski Sandy, 25, confirmed to police he had stored a magazine from his .45-caliber Glock 21 with four rounds inside the oven. Police said Walker’s wounds were superficial, and didn’t make any arrests. We’re sure Martha Steward would agree using your oven for ammo storage is not a good thing. Wikipedia photo
