South Carolina Gets New Deer-Limit Law

After more than a decade of working for a new law to limit deer harvesting, South Carolina finally passed one. South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley signed Senate Bill S.454 into law on June 8. Lawmakers, wildlife professionals, conservation-minded citizens, and ethical hunters, all had a hand in getting the new law passed, which is designed to stop the abuse and exploitation taking place under the state’s current hunting law. The new law goes into effect next year.
