Texas Spring Rains Mixed Blessing

“The heavy, in some cases record-setting, rains that swamped much of the state this year have been a great blessing to wildlife and the landscape on which those resources depend, fueling explosive growth vegetation that provides crucial food and cover and making life-giving water easily available. But those rains also have been a curse, displacing some wildlife as floods robbed them of vital habitat or falling at a time and in a quantity that negatively affected reproduction,” writes outdoor blogger Shannon Tompkins.
