Texas Trophy Hunters Association Publishes First-Time Writers
Did you know that The Journal of the Texas Trophy Hunters publishes hunting stories from first-time writers? That’s right. For those budding scribes itching to break into the magazine publishing world, now’s the time to act. So, if you’ve been thinking about writing about that perfect (or not so perfect) hunt for posterity, here’s how to do it.
First, you must sign up as a member of the Texas Trophy Hunters Association (TTHA)! In doing so, you’ve practically ensured your ticket into the outdoor sports-writing world. Second, just sit yourself down and write that story for the pages of The Journal to share with all your friends and other TTHA members. We’re always on the lookout for stories! If you are already a member, send us your stories and photos now!
Stories must be at least 1,200 words long, and up to 2,500 words (preferably in MS Word format), with any and all clear, in-focus accompanying photos. The more photos to choose from, the better your story will be. If they’re digital photos, make sure they’re the large kind, at least 1MB in size and set at 300 dpi (dots per inch) resolution, as this is the size that will best reproduce for printing in the magazine. All submissions should be e-mailed to the Assistant Editor, martin@ttha.com, or post office mailed to:
TTHA, Attn: Editor

Don’t be shy or worried about your writing prowess. Like good guides, the editors will help you get through the rough spots and help make the most out of your “buck-of-a-lifetime” tale. So get yourself started rubbing elbows (and keyboards) with the pro writers today. Remember, The Journal is your magazine, and we can’t celebrate the thrill of the hunt and the fellowship of the outdoors without your help. Besides, isn’t bragging about your buck or other game animal the best part?
TTHA strives to unite all segments of the hunting community for the dissemination of information and joining of energies to promote and protect our hunting heritage. Founded in 1975, TTHA, a membership-based organization, publishes a bimonthly magazine, The Journal of the Texas Trophy Hunters, and produces the award-winning outdoor television program, The Journal of the American Trophy Hunters.
